The Lazio Region has an interesting collection of volcanic lakes.
Among these, in the Province of Viterbo you’ll find the Lake Vico, Bolsena Lake and the lakes of Mezzano and Monterosi.

The volcanic systems that approximately 600,000 years ago began their activities are: Vulsinio, which gave rise to the lake of Bolsena, Vicano, which gave rise to the lake of Vico and Cimino.

In the forest of Lamone there are typical lava blocks. In Farnese there is an interesting activity in quarry blocks of tuff.
