(19,23 square km with 2338 inhabitants: Oriolesi)
It is located near the lake of Bracciano, at 420 metres above sea-level, halfway from Viterbo and from Rome. The village is small, but well kept. It is
bordered by a series of hills rich in vegetation, completely covered by woods of beeches, turkey oaks and chestnut trees. Around 300 it was a bishops
see and this shows that the village already existed and had strategic importance. The birth of Oriolo can be dated from the 1560 Agreement between
Giorgio Santacoroce and Umbrian woodcutters who settled in the feud that the Orsini had given to the Santacroce.
