The small village is located at 440 metres above sea-level , at 33 km from Viterbo and its landscape is varied and irregular.
In the period of the fights between Rome and the populations of southern Etruria, Lubriano and the surrounding areas were conquered
by the Roman troops led by the Consul Dacio Fabio Gurge, who settled there a colony. Since 1074 it became a feud of the Monaldeschi and was
ruled by Orvieto.

Inside the church one can still find a very particular atmosphere and important works are well kept.
The church of St. Maria del Poggio
It is located just outside the village, and it is the first thing that tourists can appreciate. The faade has an elegant aspect and has been recently restored.
