The origins of the village, in all probability, are previous to the Etruscan period and date back to the Faliscans, when the ancient town of
Fascennium rose in the place where Corchiano is today. It is at about 25 km from Viterbo, the surrounding territory is rich in vegetation, the cultivation of
grapes is particularly flourishing. The village reached the highest splendour under the dominion of the Papal state, during which it took on the present aspect.
Around the year 1000, the territory was a feud of the Farolfo and later it was ruled by the Farnese and by the Santa Croce.
